Loren Duke Abdalla, 91, passed away Sunday, December 4, 2016. He was a long time resident of Fox Lake, IL, formerly of Wagner, SD, and a member of the Yankton Sioux Tribe.
During WWII, he served his country with distinction as a Corporal in the US Marine Corps. He received a Purple Heart and Distinguished Service Medals, along with numerous campaign ribbons.
He worked as a brick mason and building maintenance engineer before his retirement.
In life, he had many interests including ballroom dancing. As a sportsman he enjoyed all manner of sports including hunting and fishing; he also enjoyed his many hours tinkering in his workshop.
He will be greatly missed by his son, Brady Abdalla of Fox Lake; daughter, Raleigh Mann of Round Rock, TX; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
The visitation will be Sunday, December 11, from 1 p.m. until the time of eulogy service at 5 p.m., at Hamsher Lakeside Funerals and Cremations, 12 N. Pistakee Lake Rd., Fox Lake.
Burial will be at 1 p.m., Monday, December 12, at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL.
