Norman Otto Bauske, of Arlington Heights and Fox Lake, Illinois, was born in Chicago on March 16, 1925, to the late Otto and Myrl Bauske, and died Saturday, September 16, 2017. He grew up in Des Plaines, graduating from Maine Township High School in 1943. That year he was drafted into the US Navy, serving during WWII. After the war, he attended and graduated from Lincoln College. He then worked with his father at Otto Bauske & Sons Roses in Woodstock, Illinois until 1959. He then became founder and owner/operator of Bauske Boat Basin in Fox Lake, Illinois. He was the loving husband to his wife of 64 years, the late Christine (nee Jablonski); dear brother of the late Virginia (James) Sutton and the late Duane Bauske. Norman leaves behind his cherished family: devoted children, Brooks (Barb), Brent, Brice (Tracy), Bridjet (Michael) Fogarty, and Brock; and his niece, Shelley Sutton. Norman is similarly proud of his grandchildren: Adam (Liz), Carrie, Shaunte (Kyle) Rawson, Katrina Hermanson, Trinity Hermanson, Justin Fogarty, Sean Fogarty, Ryan Fogarty, Paige, Kyra, and Kyle; and great-grandchildren, Ethan and Kaitlyn. As a friend, mentor, and trusted business owner, he touched the lives of countless, friends and customers. He will be dearly missed by all. Visitation will be Monday, September 25, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of memorial service at 11:30 a.m., at Hamsher Lakeside Funerals & Cremations, 12 N. Pistakee Lake Rd., Fox Lake.
