Richard “Dick” Ano, 73, of McHenry, formerly of Zeeland, MI, passed away unexpectedly at his home Monday, May 9, 2016.

Dick was born February 11, 1943, in Waukegan, to the late Woodrow and Vera (nee Manning) Ano. 

Dick grew up in Waukegan and was an avid golfer.  A lover of music, Dick was the bass player and sang harmony—with his four brothers—for the Lancers and Satin Finish.

Survivors include his daughter, Cindy (Orval) Abney of Wonder Lake; grandsons, Justin (Melissa) and Jeremy Abney; great-granddaughter, Jocelyn Abney; brothers, Woodrow (Inga) Ano of Sedona, AZ; Jerry (Diyanne) Ano of Beach Park, Barry (Pegi) Ano of Hurricane, UT, and Andy (DeLynne) Ano of Bakersfield, CA; brother-in-law, Ray Von Bober of Sugar Camp, WI; and many, many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Kay (nee Bucher) Ano in 1997; and by his only sister, Lelani Ano Von Bober

The visitation will be Friday, May 13, from 9 a.m. until the time of funeral service at 11 a.m., at Hamsher Lakeside Funerals and Cremations, 12 N. Pistakee Lake Rd., Fox Lake.  Burial will be Saturday, May 14, in Sulphur Springs Cemetery, Loami, IL.
