Michael “Pickle” or “Marvin” James Lee, 59, of Round Lake Heights, unexpectedly passed away Monday, March 18, 2024, at Advocate Condell Medical Center, Libertyville. He was born May 27, 1964, in Chicago, to Robert and Margaret (nee Koons) Lee.
Michael grew up in Northbrook and was a 1983 graduate of Glenbrook South High School. He went on to become a drywall taper first working with his dad, and then working for Altmann Drywall and Taping in Wauconda. Michael retired during his time with SC Johnson, where he was a custodian.
Michael lived in Northbrook, Illinois; Wisconsin, and most recently Round Lake Heights, Illinois. He enjoyed spending time snowmobiling and four wheeling with friends, and had a love of food—especially burritos and tacos. He loved both of his dogs, his German Shepherd Coco, and his Alaskan Malamute Roxanne, and enjoyed spending time with them.
Survivors include his Dad, Robert; Siblings, Robert (Mariola) Lee; Linda (Darrell) Powell, Maggie Lee, and Catherine (Joe) Racanelli; nephews and nieces, Robert Lee, Joseph and Payton Powell, and Frances Racanelli; Aunt, Mary Ellen (Sanden) Joren; Uncle, Dale Koons, Aunt, Mary (Mary) Lee; Cousins, Timothy (Diana), Jeff (Jodie), and Scott (Jackie) Joren, Krystal, Holly (Heather), and Heather Koons, Maryellen (Jeff) Helminiak (and their daughter, Olivia), and Dan Lee; and many, many friends.
Michael was preceded in death by his mom, Margaret “Peggy” in 2006; Aunts, Lorna (Kathy) Lee, Catherine “Cathy” Koons and Julia (“Lynn”) Koons; Uncle, Donald and Aunt, Arlene “Winkie” Lee; and Cousin, John Lee.
Visitation Monday, March 25, from 1 p.m. until the time of funeral service at 5 p.m., at Hamsher Lakeside Funerals & Cremations, 12 N. Pistakee Lake Rd., Fox Lake. Interment will be private.
