Agnes Mary Unruh, 98, a lifelong resident of Fox Lake, died Saturday, January 13, 2018, at her home.
Born December 18, 1919, on the family homestead in Fox Lake, to the late Louis and Therese Tonyan, she married the late Edwin Unruh.
Agnes briefly lived in California and Washington States prior to returning to the Fox Lake area. She was a longtime member of St. Bede Catholic Church, where she was a member of the Women’s Club. She worked for 20-years, and retired in 1987 from, Baxter Travenol where she was a production associate, and member of the Baxter Alumni Club. Agnes was very proud of being the ambassador for Round Lake at the 50-year Baxter International Jubilee. In retirement, she worked for T.J. Maxx in Round Lake.
Survivors include her children, Joann (the late Robert) Gaylor of Ingleside, Edwin (Vvallj) Unruh of Phoenixville, PA, Laura (Ken) Seplak of Round Lake Beach, and Marcia (Scott Grunewald) Richards of Fox Lake; seven grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and siblings, Dorothy (the late Herman) Walter of Belvidere and Louis “Jim” (the late Eleanor) Tonyan of Crystal Lake.
Agnes was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edwin, in 1968; and siblings, Harold (Adelle), Everett, Charles, and Oliver Tonyan.
Memorial visitation will be Saturday, May 5, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass at 11 a.m., at St. Bede Catholic Church, 36455 N. Wilson Rd. (at the intersection with Route 59), Ingleside. Inurnment will follow in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, McHenry.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Agnes’ name may be made to St. Bede Church.
