Arthur “Art” Clarence Moldenhauer, 76, of Johnsburg, passed away peacefully Saturday, April 14, 2018. He was born June 21, 1941, in Wheeling.
Arthur was a Lake County Illinois Police Deputy and Detective in the Narcotics Division. He also served on the Fox Lake Police Department. After his many years in law enforcement, he was manager of the Northbrook Sports Club. Arthur had a great passion for trap shooting for 50 years. He enjoyed reading, the outdoors (animals, birds, flowers), but mostly being with his wife of 42 years, attending family gatherings, and being with his friends, and shooting buddies. Much joy and comfort were brought to Art from the American Bulldog, “Blizzard”, who lived next door. He looked forward to each visit; they were great pals.
He is survived by his loving wife, Eileen (nee Grabowski); his dear and caring sister-in-law, Jeanne (Peter) Dziadus; dear brother-in-law, Richard (Nancy) Grabowski; nephew, Bryan (Sheila) Grabowski; niece, Dr. Kristy Grabowski; great-nephew, Joseph Grabowski; and great-niece, Sarah Grabowski. Survivors also include several cousins and many dear friends—especially his trap-shooting “buddies.”
Arthur was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Ethel (nee Hank) Moldenhauer; his in-laws, Eugene and Regina Grabowski; and his grandparents.
Inurnment will be private.
His wife, Eileen, extends heartfelt thanks to Dr. James Wicks, Dr. Leon Sujata, and Dr. Steven Rabinowe for their exceptional care and compassion for Art over many, many years.
Gratitude is also expressed to the McHenry Township/Johnsburg Rescue and Police Departments.
If you so wish to honor Arthur, you may contribute to The American Heart Association; The American Diabetes Association; The National Kidney Foundation; or any charity of your choosing.
