Carol Ann Green (nee Gehringer), 75, a longtime resident of Ingleside, died Thursday, August 22, 2019, at Advocate Condell Medical Center, Libertyville. She was born in Hampshire October 30, 1943, to the late John and Alice (nee Hegelshafer) Gehringer.
Carol was a devoted wife, mom, grandma, sister, and friend, who was always willing to lend a hand. She enjoyed the outdoors and being active in her community. Some of her other favorite past times were watching the Bulls and Bears. She was a longtime member of St. Bede Church, belonging to the Women’s Club, helping with the rummage sale, and volunteering at the school.
Survivors include her husband of 55 years, John “Jack” Green III, whom she married August 22, 1964; children, Brice (Wendy) Green, John Green VI, Julie (Chris) Matusik, Paul Green, and Mark (fiancée Kristen Ortiz) Green; grandchildren, Matt (Samantha), Alec, and Jordan Green, Andrew Green, Brianna and Tommy Matusik, Destinee Green, and Marky Green; brothers, Hank (Judy), Fritz (Alice), and Ray (Janice) Gehringer; sisters, Dorothy (the late Ervin) Jordahl and Mary (Frank) Grossen; and brothers- and sisters-in-law, Sue Green, Barbara (Mike) Sieman, Beatrice (Jeff) Hahn, Joe, Michael, Robert, David, and Richard (Susan) Green.
In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by brothers, Al (Nancy) and George Gehringer; and brother-in-law, Thomas (Cathy) Green.
Visitation Sunday, August 25, from 4-8 p.m. (with a wake service at 7 p.m.), at Hamsher Lakeside Funerals and Cremations, 12 N. Pistakee Lake Rd., Fox Lake.
On Monday, August 26, all are invited to go directly to Our Lady of the Lakes-St. Bede Church, 36455 N. Wilson Rd., Ingleside, for the 11:30 a.m., Mass of Christian Burial. A luncheon will follow in the Church basement.
A graveside service will be held at 2:45 p.m., Monday, August 26, at Ascension Cemetery, 1920 Buckley Rd., Libertyville.
