Debbie Giorno (nee Glod), 67, of Ingleside, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, March 28, 2018, at Good Samaritan Hospital, Downers Grove. She was born May 3, 1950, in Chicago.
Debbie was an avid fan of all Chicago sports teams and an active and past member of the Elk Grove Junior Women’s Club. She enjoyed gardening, traveling, and spending time with her family—especially her grandchildren. Debbie also had a very strong and loving bond with her sisters.
Survivors include her husband of 47 years, Chris, whom she met in high school in 1965; children, Mike (Jen Infante) Giorno and Amanda (Mike) Lanners; grandchildren, Tony and Vinny Giorno, Luke and Max Lanners, and Evan, Maddox, and Maya Infante; mother, Mary (nee Hirtzig) Glod; siblings, Cathy (Don) Meersman, Bob (Patti) Glod, Joanne (Mark) Mondul, Betsy (Bill) Stanton, Patty (Clark) Raymond, Sue (Tom) Martine, and Dan (Christine) Glod; sister-in-law, Christine (Bob) Steffens; and 21 nieces and nephews.
Debbie was preceded in death by her dad, Robert Glod.
The memorial visitation will be Friday, April 6, from 4-8 p.m., at Hamsher Lakeside Funerals and Cremations, 12 N. Pistakee Lake Rd., Fox Lake. There will also be visitation Saturday, April 7, from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass at 11 a.m., at St. Bede Catholic Church, 36455 N. Wilson Rd. (at the intersection with IL Route 59), Ingleside. Inurnment will be private.
