Elaine Theresa Neuroth, age 84, a long-time resident of Ingleside, died at home Tuesday, August 7, 2018, surrounded by her loving family.
Elaine was born on October 25, 1933, in Chicago. Although she was a twin, her twin sister died at birth. Elaine attended Resurrection Academy, Chicago, graduating in 1951. Art, music, and dancing were her favorites. She especially enjoyed playing her piano.
In 1952, Elaine married Lee—her childhood sweetheart—at Our Lady of Mercy on the Northwest side of Chicago. Their union of 66 years was filled with many joys and challenges. Elaine had eight children, including two sets of twins. She spent most of her adult life in Ingleside, where she was a faithful member of St. Bede Church for 60 years. She was a Mother’s Club member and a room mother at the school. She was a Mary Kay consultant and a “Demo Lady” at local grocery stores.
Elaine’s priorities were her children and grandchildren. She devoted her life to raising her large, boisterous family. Her motherly heart touched many lives and we will miss her advice and her laughter. Elaine was a great friend, and always had time for a visit or a chat on the phone.
Elaine is survived by her loving husband, Lee; children, Linda (Dan) Smith of Maple Lake, MN, twins, Lenette Peterson and Lee R. Neuroth, Kirk (Rose) Neuroth of San Diego, CA, twins John and James Neuroth; grandchildren, Craig (Brooke) Neuroth, Angela and John Smith, Victor (Nicole) Tranellis, Christina and Amanda Tranellis, Tom and Audrey Neuroth, Tiffany (Jacob) Bergstrom, Amber, Mackenzie, and Jackie Neuroth; nine great grandchildren; her beloved sister, Arlene French; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Rose Ann (nee Gockowski) Wawrzyniak; son, Thomas Neuroth; and daughter, Paul Rose Neuroth.
Visitation will be Tuesday, August 14, at St. Bede Church, 36455 N. Wilson Rd., Ingleside, IL 60041, from 9:30 a.m. until the funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in St. Bede Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Bede Church.
