John Christopher DiTusa, 63, of Ingleside, died Friday, May 11, 2018, at Advocate Condell Medical Center, Libertyville. He was born October 7, 1954, in Chicago, to the late Lucille (nee Meyer) DiTusa and Jerome DiTusa.
John retired from the Army, was a veteran of Vietnam, and a member of Fox Lake American Legion Post 703. He excelled in many forms of martial arts, earning a black belt in Tae Kwon Do.
Survivors include his siblings, LouAnn (Fred) Anderson, Timothy, Terence, and James (Patrice) DiTusa; many nieces and nephews; and many great nieces and nephews.
The visitation will be Thursday, May 17, from 4 p.m. until the time of American Legion services at 8 p.m., at Hamsher Lakeside Funerals and Cremations, 12 N. Pistakee Lake Rd., Fox Lake. Visitation will resume at the funeral home from 9-10 a.m., Friday, May 18, with a Mass celebrated at 10:30 a.m. at St. Bede Catholic Church, 36455 N. Wilson Rd. (at the intersection with Route 59), Ingleside. Burial, with military honors, will follow in Warren Cemetery, Gurnee.
