June L. Taveirne (nee Dalziel), 94, a lifelong resident of Ingleside, passed away Wednesday, February 13, 2019, at home.
She was born June 16, 1924, in Waukegan, to the late Guy and Gladys (nee Lumber) Dalziel, she married the late Edmond H. Taveirne, June 16, 1951.
June was a graduate of Illinois State Normal University and went on to teach business at Grayslake High School, substitute teach at Big Hollow School, and teach Sunday School at Ingleside Methodist Church. Active in her childrens’ activities, she enjoyed attending their 4H, Little League, band, and sports activities. She was a longtime, faithful member of Faith Presbyterian Church, McHenry, where she baked for luncheons and made crafts for church bazaars. For more than three decades, June’s children and their families joined together every Friday night for family and friends dinners.
Survivors include her children, Douglas (Linda) Taveirne of McHenry, Colleen (Kevin) Irvin of Ingleside, Edmond Taveirne of Westmont; Beth Taveirne of Wetmore, MI; grandchildren, Mike, John, and Rebecca Taveirne, Analysa (Jacksone) Howe, and Brendan Taveirne; and her beloved dogs, Bailey and Cooper.
June was preceded in death by her husband, Edmond in 1983, and her parents.
Visitation Saturday, February 16, from 10 a.m. until the time of funeral service at 12 noon, at Hamsher Lakeside Funerals and Cremations, 12 N. Pistakee Lake Rd., Fox Lake. Burial will be in Grant Cemetery, Ingleside.
