Leonard “Lenny” Schmieglitz, 60, of Antioch, passed away Saturday, November 3, 2018, in Kenosha, after a long, courageous battle with ALS. He was born July 21, 1958, in Waukegan, to the late Arthur and Miriam (nee Nagle) Schmieglitz.
Lenny was an avid outdoorsman, who loved to hunt and fish. He worked as a bricklayer and was a member of the Bricklayers Local 20 in Waukegan for over 30 years.
Survivors include his wife, Denise (nee Wilson); stepson, Bryan (Jessica) Chrzastowski; step grandson, Jacob Chrzastowski; and siblings, Michael (Jackie) Schmieglitz, Patricia (Leroy) Sturtevant, Margaret “Gretchen” Sherman, and Coleen (the late Steve) Glaves; and by many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
A celebration of Lenny’s life will be held from 4-8 p.m., Saturday, November 17, at Choppers Bar and Grill, 26375 IL-173, Antioch.
