Marcella E. Mathisen, 94, a former longtime resident of Wheeling, died Wednesday, July 4, 2018, at Burr Oak Manor, Genoa City, WI. She was born June 1, 1924, in Gladstone, MI, to the late Alphonse and Amilia Belongie.
Survivors include her children, Carole (Larry) Widmer, Ralph Mathisen, and Julie (Ken) Quitschau; grandchildren, Jessica and Michael Widmer, Shawn Quitschau, Susan (Chris) Kalm, and Michael (Jen) Angeloff; eight great-grandchildren; son-in-law, Robert Angeloff; sisters, Alice Vemich and Vivian (Bill) Miller; and many nieces and nephews.
Marcella was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Mathisen; daughter, Gloria Angeloff; and six siblings.
Visitation will be Sunday, July 8, from 2-4 p.m., at Hamsher Lakeside Funerals and Cremations, 12 N. Pistakee Lake Rd., Fox Lake.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m., Monday, July 9, at St Peter Catholic Church, 2118 Main St., Spring Grove. Burial will be private in St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery, Palatine.
