Maxine “Maki” F. Kennedy, 77, Pistakee Highlands, passed away Saturday, January 19, 2019, at her home.
She was born August 17, 1941, in Waukegan to the late John and Amelia (nee Hervoy) Slovnik. Maki married the late Donald “Don” Kennedy on June 20, 1964.
Maki was a lifelong railroad worker, retiring as a ticket agent for the Milwaukee Road/Metra Line. She had previously worked on the Northshore Line. Maki enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Survivors include her siblings, John (Liz) Slovnik, Patricia (Gary) Znidersic, Nancy Wilcox, William (Pat) Slovnik, Roni (the late Bob) Adler; brother-in-law, Cal Kukar; sister-in-law, Dolores (the late Bud) Olson; and numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, Maki was preceded in death by her sisters, Barbara Thrall and Joan Kukar.
The memorial service and inurnment will be private.
