Patricia A. Jennes (nee Bowling), 87, formerly of Chicago and Bloomington, died Monday, September 24, 2018, at home. She was born January 27, 1931, in Bloomington, to the late Rollo and Florence (nee Kistner) Bowling.
Patricia was a Registered Nurse, who graduated from St. Joseph School of Nursing, Chicago. She went on to work in Chicago at St. Joseph Hospital, then for a doctor in private practice, and retired as Director of Nursing at Augustana (Grant) Hospital.
She enjoyed gardening, reading books, genealogy, going to Phil’s Beach in Round Lake, traveling (especially to Florida and Ireland), and enjoying her retirement with her late husband. Most of all, Patricia was known as a wonderful cook who loved spending time with her family and friends.
Survivors include her children, William Jennes, Jr. and Patricia (Gary Brink) Jennes Bultemeier; grandchildren, William Jennes III, Brendan and Alexandra Bultemeier, Lauren (Anton) Stanley, Eden Malato, and Hunter Wegner; great-granddaughter, Star Stanley; and by many loving nieces and nephews—including Terrance (Alice) Fitzgerald.
In addition to her parents, Patricia was preceded in death by her husband, William Jennes, Sr.; daughter, Constance “Connie” (Brian Masi) Malato; and siblings, Dorothea (Bus) Fitzgerald, and William (Penny) and James (Sharon) Bowling.
Memorial visitation will be Friday, October 5, from 3 p.m. until the celebration of Patricia’s life at 6 p.m., at Hamsher Lakeside Funerals and Cremations, 12 N. Pistakee Lake Rd., Fox Lake. Interment will be private in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Stanford, Illinois.
