Scott “Swanny” Swanson, 60, of Ingleside, was freed from ALS Wednesday, July 25, 2018, surrounded by his loving family. He was born September 26, 1957, in Fargo, ND, and was a 1976 graduate of Libertyville High School.
A devoted family man, Scott was co-owner of Northstar Concrete Corporation in Grayslake, and a great handyman. He was also an avid Chicago sports fan who enjoyed golfing, boating, biking, and traveling.
Survivors include his loving wife of 32 years, Pam (nee Grenell); his adored children, Brian Swanson, Jamie (Justin) Shroat, and Nicole Swanson; his brothers and sisters, Greg (Tracey) Swanson, Julie Swanson, Janet (Andy) Hyams, and Joellie (Dave) Hankin; in-laws, Richard and Joanne Grenell; his loving nieces and nephews; and many, many beloved friends.
Scott was greeted in heaven by his parents, Donald and Bernice (nee Stangler) Swanson; and by his sister, Ann Swanson.
Memorial visitation will be 3-8 p.m., Thursday, August 2, at Hamsher Lakeside Funerals and Cremations, 12 N. Pistakee Lake Rd., Fox Lake.
A Mass to celebrate Scott’s life will be at 10 a.m., Friday, August 3, at St. Bede Catholic Church, 36455 N. Wilson Rd., Ingleside. Please go directly to the Church. Inurnment will follow in Ascension Cemetery, Libertyville.
