Anthony J. Vallango, Sr., 84, of Fox Lake, passed away Tuesday, October 20, 2020, at Advocate Condell Hospital, Libertyville.
Born May 13, 1936, in Chestnut Ridge, PA, Anthony married the late Marion J. (nee Stanzel) February 7, 1959, in Smock, PA.
A veteran of the Army, Anthony was a member of Fox Lake American Legion Post 703 for more than 25 years. He also had a proud, 40-year career as a sign hanger with the Sheet Metal Workers’ Local Union 73.
Survivors include his sons, Mark (Carol Flatley), Eugene, and Tony Vallango; grandchildren, Venessa Perzigian and Amber and Anthony (Bryn) Vallango; great-grandchildren, Dayja, Clayton, Kaleb, Sumer, Isaac, Sadie, and Lyla June; and siblings, Yolanda Billy, Genevieve Dascola, Samuel Vallango, and James Vallango, Jr.
Anthony was preceded in death by his wife, Marion in 2016; parents, James and Josephine (nee Scalise) Vallango, Sr.; and siblings, Fred Vallango, Elizabeth Gatts, Joseph Vallango, Lawrence Vallango, Veronica Muraco, Mary Giambronie, and Loretta Swartek.
Visitation Friday, October 23, from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass at 12 noon, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 2118 Main St., Spring Grove. Burial will follow in St. Peter Catholic Cemetery. Please note face masks will be required to be worn, and physical distancing practiced, while inside the church and at the graveside service.
