Bill Davis Obituary

Bill M Davis 81, longtime resident of Plainview Arkansas passed peacefully at Journey Care in Barrington IL. Bill proudly served as a Flight Engineer on C-130 airplanes as Master Sargent of the United States Marine Corp for 30 year. He traveled all over the world, he was stationed in Alaska as well as Okinawa Japan. At the time of his retirement he was stationed at MCAS El Toro in Irvine, CA. with squadron VMGR 325. Bill enjoyed the outdoors and he spent many adventures in the Nevada dessert on metal detecting expeditions, Building Model airplanes (and crashing them too). Also some of his pastime included working under the hood of a car or fixing anything that was broken, lending a hand in some of the Plainview town restorations. Bill was also an avid Ford Mustang lover. He enjoyed doing research for his family tree and sharing the information at the Davis Family Reunions.

Bill is survived by Stepdaughter and Caregiver Michelle “Missy” Russo and granddaughter Jenna Russo. Bill is also survived by Son, Greg “Buddy” Davis and daughter in law Cindy Davis as well as grandsons Benjamin and Nicholas, Brother James (Myra) Davis, Niece Sheryl (Tom) Atoigue and children Jessica Kountz (Connor, Sterling & Cooper) and Josh Kountz, Nephew John (Mona) Davis, Niece Shelley Boyer (Children Tiffany (Glen, Max & Ava) Jones, Nathan (Stacy) Schoenle, Nephew Ron Dalton and many loving cousins (Davis Family).  Dear friend of Robert and Kaye Merywether.

Bill is preceded in death by beloved wife Rosemary, Sister Peggy Dalton, Brother in Law Jerry Dalton, Parents Robert Benson Davis and Lilly Mae Davis, many Aunts and Uncles and dogs Jake and Samantha and Alex.

Memorial service to be held in July, please check with the family for confirmation.
