Carol L. Moore (nee Zillmer), age 86 passed away peacefully April 20, 2023 at The Cottages of Fox Lake. She was the beloved wife of the late George T. Moore. Carol is survived by her daughter Dawn (Richard) Dahl and Duane Moore. She was the loving grandmother of Scott (Erica) Moore, Harley (Cesar) Gonzalez and great grandmother of Adriana Moore-Gonzalez and Jayden Gonzalez.
On February 14, 1937, Carol was born the 3rd daughter of Frank and Ruth Zillmer, of Morton Grove, Il.
She is preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Mary (Norb) Devine and Elizabeth “Betty” (Bill) Guenther.
After their marriage, Carol and George settled in Buffalo Grove where they raised their children. Over the years Carol had several jobs including General Finance. She also ran her own two businesses; “C.G. Movers” and “Puppy Love Hot Dog” stand.
She enjoyed her involvement in the school PTO, organizing neighborhood activities and making crafts.
In 1991, Carol and George made their weekend getaway into their permanent home in Monroe Center, Wi. There Carol worked for the Tribune until her retirement. She was very active in her church, local craft fairs and vacationing with friends.
After her husband, George passed, Carol spent her winters in her motorhome in Yuma, Az. She eventually left her motoring days behind and made her way to a senior community in Holiday, Fla. This is where she happily spent her last few winters.
Carol was loved by family and friends. Her smile and laughter will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Carol will be laid to rest next to her late husband, George on Saturday, April 29 at 11:30 a.m. in Monroe Center, Wi.
