David A. Mullenhoff, 61, of Lindenhurst, formerly of Chicago Ridge, unexpectedly died at home Saturday, July 4, 2020. He was born in Chicago, to the late William and Rosemary (nee Kustard) Mullenhoff, November 18, 1958.
David had a 43-year as a Building and Bridge Engineer with Amtrak, and was supposed to retire in a month. He was an avid Chicago Bears fan, enjoyed fishing, and loved coaching his son’s and daughter’s soccer teams. Above all, he was a great husband, dad, and grandpa.
Survivors include his wife, Karen (nee Travaglio), whom he married September 8, 1984; children, Anthony and Danielle Mullenhoff; grandson, Jesse Carran, Jr.; sisters, Bonnie Ackerman and Lisa (the late Larry) Sibr; in-laws, Carol and Mike Travaglio; brother-in-law, Dean (the late Maryann) Travaglio; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his brothers, Billy (Toni) Mullenhoff, Raymond (Jo Jo) Mullenhoff, and Alfred (Pat) Mullenhoff.
A celebration of life will be held Sunday, July 12, from 2 p.m. until the time of memorial service at 6 p.m., at Hamsher Lakeside Funerals and Cremations, 12 N. Pistakee Lake Rd., Fox Lake. Please note, face masks and physical distancing will be required while inside funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in David’s name may be made to his family—"ya know.”
