Dawn L. Howland, 53, of Fox Lake, passed away Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at home, in the house she was raised in.  She was born December 26, 1971, in Aurora, to the late James Bernard Howland Sr. and Doreen Dennehy-Ostrowski.

Dawn grew up and attended schools in Fox Lake and graduated from Richmond-Burton High School.  She attended College of Lake County.  Dawn loved music, dancing, writing poetry, and butterflies. Above all, she was very generous and loved to help people.

Survivors include her children, Jeremy Howland, Justice Howland, and Jazmyn Howland; grandchildren, Justice Jr., Giannis, Lucius, Kaylyn, and with one on the way (who will be named Amari); best friend and companion, Dario David Mosquera; and siblings, Renee (Bob) Carter, Julia Francis, Jack (Harmony) and Phil (fiancée Tiffany) Willis, and James Howland Jr.; stepmom, Mary Linda Willis; and nieces and nephews, Kyle, Garret, Jacob, Ayla, Akasha, Sebastian, and Avi.

In addition to her parents, Dawn was preceded in death by her stepdad, Joe Ostrowski.

A memorial visitation will be held Sunday, May 4, from 2 p.m. until the time of memorial service at 4:30 p.m., at Hamsher Lakeside Funerals & Cremations, 12 N. Pistakee Lake Rd., Fox Lake.  Interment will be private.
