Dawn Marie Kempf, 61, of Fox Lake, IL passed away in her home on April 3rd, 2023.
Dawn was born August 9, 1961, to Carol and George Glanert in Newport, Rhode Island. She graduated from Grayslake high school in Grayslake and attended college courses at College of Lake County.
Dawn was smart, witty, funny, and downright goofy. She was kind and thoughtful and will be remembered and missed by the many lives she touched. She was a mother, daughter, sister, grandma, aunt, fur-mama, mentor, and a friend to many.
Dawn was strong and independent. She worked as a Product Development Engineer at Nosco Inc, for over 25 years. She worked hard on the products she developed for the pharmaceutical packaging industry and was extremely proud to have received patents for her best ideas. Her legacy at Nosco will continue to live on through these.
Above all else, Dawn believed in family. Her heart and home were always open to all. She loved gardening and taking care of her squirrel and bird friends that visited her house often. She was a proud grandma and loved spending time with her 4 beautiful grandchildren, and fur-babies. The bonds she created between her children and family will carry on.
Dawn was sensitive, compassionate, strong-willed, and stubborn. Her strength undoubtedly helped her deal with life's many challenges. She was resilient and fought every battle life dealt her, with fierce determination and perseverance. Her family finds comfort knowing she no longer must fight. She has spread her wings and is on a journey to a better place. She is free from pain and soaring peacefully with her bird friends in the warm sunny skies of her dreams.
Dawn is survived by her mother Carol Glanert, her sister Michelle Kempf (Allen Kempf), her brother Rick Glanert, her children Jessica Martinez, Kimberly Martinez (Kyle Sprosty), Billie Kempf, James Kempf (Brooke Thomas), & her grandchildren Michael, Brantley, Tristian & Jemma Dawn. She is preceded in death by her father George Glanert & brother Skip Glanert.
A Celebration of Life will be hosted in summer of 2023. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Dawn's GoFundMe account to cover the costs of her cremation services and closing estate fees. The family also requests for everyone to enjoy a cold Miller Lite or Margarita, in her honor. Dawn will be greatly missed, joyfully remembered, and never forgotten. We love you Mama.
