Dorothea P. Stekl (nee Prosek), 99, passed away on Thursday May 20,2021. She was born September 8, 1921 in Chicago, Illinois, to the late Joseph and Ernestine (nee Herrmann) Prosek.

Dorothea, a longtime resident of Ingleside, IL loved crafting, quilting, and crocheting. She was a member of the VFW and American Legion Auxiliary. She spent most of her life caring for others.

Dorothea is survived by her children, Robert (Darlene) Stekl and Michael (Diane) Stekl; and grandchildren Rebecca (Chad) Andersen, Stephanie (Robert) Just, Myles Stekl, and Jessica (Kiel) Hansen.

 She was preceded in death by her husband Miles Stekl, and her parents Joseph and Ernestine (nee Herrmann) Prosek.

 A visitation will be held on Saturday May 29, from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. at Hamsher Lakeside Funerals and Cremations, 12 N. Pistakee Lake Rd., Fox Lake. Burial will follow at Grant Township Cemetery in Ingleside. Face masks and physical distancing will be required while inside the funeral home and at the cemetery.
