Elaine F. Huhn (nee Krogmann), 88, a lifelong resident of Ingleside, died Monday, April 6, 2020, at Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital, Barrington. She was born September 13, 1931, in Chicago, to the late William and Elsie (nee Fletcher) Krogmann.
Elaine lived most of her adult life in the house she and her late husband built on the Huhn homestead 68 years ago. She was an avid Chicago Cubs fan, who enjoyed reading, playing Yahtzee, and watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune. Above all, she was a very loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Survivors include her children, Diane (Bill) Parker of West Point, MS, Gayle Mateja of Antioch, William (Kay) of Spring Grove, Lenard Jr. (Barbara) of LaBelle, FL, Robert of Pleasant Prairie, WI, and Richard Sr. (Dina) of Ingleside; grandchildren, Edward Leber, Elena (Jeffrey) House, Melanie Knowles, George Saxton Jr., Jillian Huhn, Katrina (Dan) Colin, Lenard (Monika) Huhn III, Robert Huhn Jr., John Huhn, Michael Richard Huhn, Richard Carl Huhn Jr., and Madison Huhn; great-grandchildren, Colton, Mallory, Timothy, Justin, Lily, Robert III, Joey, Haven, and Alexis; sister-in-law, Gertrude (Toots) Huhn; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Elaine was preceded in death by her husband, Lenard Huhn Sr., whom she married June 3, 1950, in Long Lake; brothers, William, Karl, and John Krogmann; brothers-in-law, Delbert, Charles, and Leroy Huhn; and sons-in-law, Cecil Jones and David Mateja.
A celebration of Elaine's life will be held Saturday, August 8, from 1-5 p.m., at Parkway Chateau, 12304 75th St., Kenosha, WI. All family and friends are invited.
