Elaine Carol (nee Munch) Janke Obituary

Elaine Carol Janke (nee Munch), 83, of Lindenhurst, passed away Saturday,
January 7, 2023, at home. She was born November 9, 1939, in Chicago, to the late
Clarence and Elsie Munch.

Elaine enjoyed opera (she was a Lyric Opera season-ticket holder) and, in
retirement, traveling and camping around the United States with her husband in
their motorcoach. She was an avid Chicago Bears Fan and long-time member of
All Saints Lutheran Church, Fox Lake and the Baxter Babes (a Red Hat social
group) in Mountain Home, Arkansas. Most of all, she will be known as a caring
wife, mom, and grandma who always came up with “that special gift” for family
members that would always put smiles on their faces.

Survivors include her loving husband, Gerald “Jerry” Janke; daughter, Carol (Jon)
Williams; grandsons, Jeffrey and David Williams; brother, Richard (Sue) Munch;
and niece, Kathryn (John) Plummer and her children, John Jr. and Aaron.

A celebration of Elaine’s life will be held in the upcoming months.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Elaine’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research
Hospital, appreciated.
