Frances M. “Fran” Helmandollar (nee Cadero), 81, a resident of McHenry for 51 years, peacefully passed away at home Thursday, June 20, 2024.  She was born to the late Frank and Ann (nee Jamrozik) Cadero on September 17, 1942, in Chicago.

Fran worked as a customer service representative at Federal Life Insurance Company, Riverwoods for many years.  She retired from Sears, Vernon Hills.

She enjoyed cards—especially Screwy Louie, watching Jeopardy, the Price is Right, and other shows on the Game Show Network, and gambling.  Above all, she was a loving wife, mom, grandma, and great-grandma who loved her family dearly.

Fran is survived by her husband of 62 years, Leon T. Helmandollar, Sr.; children, Cheryl Siddons and Leon (Carrie) Helmandollar, Jr.; grandchildren, Amber (John) West, Martiann (Jay) Coleman, Francesca Siddons, and Payton (Caroline), Austin, Ashton, and Faith Helmandollar; great-grandchildren, Amare Helmandollar, Madison West, and Santana Joseph Coleman; brother, John (Susan) Cadero; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Fran was preceded in death by son, Frank “Frankie Joe” Helmandollar; granddaughter, Ashley Helmandollar; and sisters, Barbara (Ed) Celler and Georgette “George” (Donald) Breske.

A memorial Mass for Fran will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Friday, August 16, 2024, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 2302 W. Church St., Johnsburg.
