Glenn J. Raasch, 72, of Round Lake, peacefully passed away Wednesday, November 4, 2020, at his home. He was born December 24, 1947, in Waukegan, to the late Roman and Emily (nee Reiff) Raasch.
Glenn, who grew up in Ivanhoe, was a 1967 graduate of Mundelein High School who went on to honorably serve in the Army both in Vietnam and Germany, where he worked with heavy equipment. On March 25, 1971, he married his wife, Diane, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Fremont Center. Following the ceremony, the couple traveled by horse and buggy “in a surrey with the fringe on top” to their wedding reception at the Countryside Fire Station banquet hall.
With his wife, Glenn began G&D Trucking. He enjoyed taking family vacations at Disney World, Florida.
He will be greatly missed by his son, Charles “Chuck” (Donna) Raasch of Ingleside, granddaughters, Cassidy Taylor Raasch and Devin Nicole Raasch; four siblings; and by many friends.
In addition to his parents, Glenn was preceded in death by his wife, Diane, on November 16, 2008.
