Gloria Roedl (nee Rodriguez), 68, of Ingleside, passed away Thursday, April 25, 2024, at Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital, Barrington. She was born January 30, 1956, in Elmhurst, to the late Pedro and Manuela (nee Allen) Rodriguez.
A loving wife, mother, grandma, sister, aunt and friend, Gloria was a fierce protector and defender of those she loved. Gloria had a very large family whom she enjoyed spending time with. During football season, you would often find her watching her favorite team, the Bears. She also enjoyed gardening and cooking her delicious Spanish rice and guacamole, amongst many other dishes.
Gloria is survived by her husband, C.J. Roedl, her lifelong partner of more than 50 years ; son, Jeffrey (Theresa) Rodriguez; grandchildren, Alex, Sean, Miranda, and Erik Rodriguez—to whom she was known as “Big Grandma”; many loving brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, and their families; and many loving in-laws and extended family members.
A memorial visitation will be held Friday, May 3, from 4-8 p.m., with a time to share memories of Gloria at 7 p.m., at Hamsher Lakeside Funerals and Cremations, 12 N. Pistakee Lake Rd., Fox Lake.
