Gracie Mia Skinner, 18, of Fox Lake, was peacefully called from this world to join her beloved mom in the next on Friday, February 11, 2022. Gracie was born May 16, 2003, in Libertyville, to Troy and the late Cheryl (nee Leutz) Skinner.
In her 18 years, Gracie lived a full life surrounded by her loving family and dear friends. She was known for her spirited nature, great hugs, wonderful laugh, and the practical jokes she played—especially on her dad.
Gracie’s days were brightened by listening to animal stories, identifying the different birds in her yard by listening to their chirps and songs, and teaching people about the earth, sun, and stars. She enjoyed and loved all animals—especially kitties.
Survivors include her beloved dad, Troy; brother, T.J.; grandparents, Helen and Howard Leutz; aunts and uncles, Tammy (Dave) Polakowski, Scott Skinner, Denise (Dave) Smith-Erichson, and John Leutz; cousins, Ally and Jack Polakowski and Fay Smith and her son, Aiden Smith; and special friends, Sandy and Zena.
Gracie was preceded in death by her mom, Cheryl, on March 24, 2020; and grandparents, Stephen Skinner and Sandy (Gordy) Young.
A joint celebration for Gracie and Cheryl will be announced for a future date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Gracie’s name to Make-A-Wish Illinois, www.wish.org/Illinois, appreciated.
