Harold Paul Henkel, 81, of Lake Zurich, formerly of Ingleside, unexpectedly passed away Saturday, December 18, 2021.  He was born August 23, 1940, in Chicago, to the late Harold James and Frieda (nee Lipps) Henkel.

Harold was a retired bricklayer who enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing, slots and gambling, sports (especially the Chicago Bears), and spending time with his fraternal twin brother, Jerry.

Harold is survived by his daughters, Linda (Jim) Schuler of Lake Zurich and Julie Austin of McHenry; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brother, Gerald “Jerry” (Diane) Henkel of Ingleside; special friend, Marlies Payne; and brother-in-law, Len Jakacki of Ocala, FL.

In addition to his parents, Harold was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Henkel, whom he married January 10, 1959; daughter, Peggy Jones; and sister, Judy Jakacki.

A celebration of Harold’s life will be held Wednesday, December 22, from 12-4 p.m., at the home of Jerry and Diane Henkel, on Henkel Lane, Ingleside.  For additional information, please contact a family member.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Harold’s name to Alliance for Humane Action (www.AHAWorks.org), a low-cost spay and neuter organization for cats, appreciated.
