Helen Mary Balcer (nee Stoczynski), 96, a longtime resident of Spring Grove, passed away Sunday, December 27, 2020. She was born January 18, 1924, in Chicago, to the late Adam and Louise (nee Ziamba) Stoczynski.
Helen worked as a clerk and, when needed, assisted in various other capacities at the Antioch Post Office. She enjoyed being social and spending time with her family and friends.
Survivors include her son, Clifford (Florence) Balcer; grandchildren, Matthew (Leslie) and Kelley Balcer; grandchildren, Ace and Juno Balcer; and several nieces and nephews.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford A. Balcer in 1993; and siblings, Walter (Sophie) and Ziggy (Dimples) Stoczynski.
Visitation 10-11 a.m., Monday, January 4, at Hamsher Lakeside Funerals and Cremations, 12 N. Pistakee Lake Rd., Fox Lake. Mass will follow at 11:30 a.m., at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 2118 Main St., Spring Grove. Burial will be in St. Peter’s Catholic Cemetery, Spring Grove.
