James Augustus Thomason Jr. left us in the early morning of Tuesday, June 10th, 2025. Jim was a dedicated manager, golf enthusiast, Scrabble champion, joke lover, sudoku enthusiast, devoted father, proud grandfather, and loving husband. He was a credit analyst and division manager at Dun & Bradstreet for 21 years. He took incredible pride in his career, and was eager to share work stories with absolutely anyone who would listen. He loved his family fiercely, and is survived by his son James A. Thomason III (Carolyn Kacner Thomason), daughter Elizabeth V. Thomason (Angelo DelGiudice), grandson J. Alex Thomason, and step-grandson Anakin Berry. Visitation will be held at Hamsher Lakeside Funerals & Cremations, 12 N. Pistakee Lake Road, Fox Lake, IL on Sunday, June 22nd, from 2-3:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Lake County Forest Preserves, to continue the Thomason appreciation of preserving our natural spaces.
