Janet Flury Obituary

Janet M. (nee Peloquin) Flury, age 77, passed away Saturday, October 23, 2021, at "The Springs at Crystal Lake", where she lived as a resident for the past few years.

The family expresses profound appreciation for the love and care Janet received daily from the staff of "The Springs" as well as the additional support provided by Transitions Hospice team the last several months.

Born a twin on September 10, 1944, in Blue Island, Illinois, she was the second of four children born to the late Walter and Jane (nee Michael) Peloquin. Janet's twin brother did not survive childbirth.

The family settled in Pistakee Highlands where she and her two siblings grew up. Her parents remained in her childhood home until they were laid to rest.  Eldest brother, James Peloquin, of Fox Lake, preceded her in death in 2005.

Survived by Janet is her partner of 43 years, Ted Jensen of McHenry; two daughters, Suzanne (Rick Rosendahl) and Melissa Parisi; two amazing grandchildren; Morgan (nee Parsons) Tisdale and Chase Parisi; four, sweet great-grandchildren (aka; "the littles"); her loving  sister, Cindy (Pete Wolowic) of Spring Grove; and her seven nieces and nephews and their spouses and children (great nieces and nephews)--and a growing group of "great-greats".  Although there are too many pups to mention, Janet loved them all. They are family, and will miss her too.

Janet was a nature and animal lover to the core, she could spend hours watching birds,  mimicking their sounds and songs.  In her earlier days, she had a love for gardening, planting several at a time, canning fruits and vegetables, planting and caring for flower beds and boxes, and crafting and decorating her home.  She was a resilient, capable, strong woman who worked hard her whole life.

Her most peaceful times were spent with Ted (aka; "Teddy") and her family taking in all the wildlife while "camping", cooking, and loving on the pups around the bonfire. She had a wonderful sense of humor and wasn't afraid to express it!  Her absence will be felt but her presence remain forever . . .

Janet had very simple requests. She will be cremated and wished to forgo all formal services.

Her family continues to celebrate her life, memories, and love, while honoring her simplicity.
