John W. Burdick, age 98, passed away peacefully, June 23, 2023.  John was the beloved husband of the late Helene (nee:  Dziak), married 71 years, and loving father of Joyce (Joseph) Fitzgerald of Ingleside and the late Janice Opland.  He was a devoted son of the late Warren and Magdalena (nee:  Krzyzowska) Burdick.  Dear brother of  the late Margaret "Margie" Greenwood. John was the cherished grandfather of Joseph "Jay" Fitzgerald of Ingleside and Lisa (Randall) Opland-Reidel of Algonquin.  Great grandfather of Chloe Reidel and Andrew and Emma Fitzgerald.  John was an endearing uncle to Ron (Ella) Greenwood and John (Hope) Greenwood.  He was a proud U. S. Navy Veteran serving on the Naval War Assault ship in the South Pacific LST 624 during WW II.  John worked for many years as a Maintenance Mechanic for Chicago Roto Print and Curtis Candy Company.  Visitation Friday from 7:00-9:00 p.m. Prayers Sat 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home with a procession to Highland Memorial Park Cemetery.
