John H. Lewey Obituary

John H. Lewey, 66, of Richmond, was born June 11, 1957 in Waukegan, and passed away April 11, 2024, peacefully surrounded by his loving wife, Roxanne Lewey, for 43 years and many other family members.


John was a very skilled mechanic specializing in transmissions. Later in life he worked as a security guard at Northwestern in McHenry.  John enjoyed camping, skeet shooting, and fishing. He loved his family and was always helping people.


He is loved and will be missed by his wife and daughters Roxanne Lewey, Kristena (David) Blume, Lisa Haskins, Sarah (Matthew) Esplin, Jennete (Micheal) Bremer, Natalie (Jacob) Wylde; his grandchildren, Avry, Addyson, Everett, Emmie, Kawena, Maximus, Elianna, Zander, Milena, and Ryker; great-grandchildren, Trisha, Kenneth, and Michael; his brother who was always there for him every single day and lifting his spirits up in a way only a brother can do will miss him more than ever, Richard (Linda) Lewey.  We thank the many family members that have helped during this difficult time, Thomas (Karen) Rieck, Stacy and Cameron Kubis, and Lori Lewey.


He is preceded in death by his parents, Inez and Howard Kubis (Lenzen); his brothers, Daniel Lewey and Gene “Spooter” Kubis; and his parent-in-law, Earl “Mike” (Gloria) Rieck.


A memorial visitation will be held Saturday, June 1, 2024, from 4 p.m. until the time of memorial service at 6 p.m., at CrossPoint Church, 27430 W. Nippersink Rd., Ingleside.
