Josephine Russell DiDomenico, 93, of McHenry IL, passed away peacefully on September 1, 2025. Known as “Nana” to her granddaughter and “Josie” to others, Josephine was born on May 14, 1932, in Lancaster, England. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Stanley DiDomenico, her daughter Linda, parents William (Billy) and Edith Russell, her brother Frederick Russell and sister Ellen Waddelow.

Josephine is survived by her sons Paul (Marta) and Stanley (Heidi), her only grandchild Alissa, her brother Terry and many nieces and nephews. 

Josephine and her beloved Stanley were married in England, where they met and fell in love.  After their wedding, they moved to northern Illinois, where Josephine and Stanley lived for the remainder of their lives.

Josephine enjoyed entertaining and often spoke about her days “on the stage” in England. She was a champion swimmer and loved the water.  She also enjoyed playing her piano and knitting.
