Jude Camillo Pinto, MD, 79, of Ingleside, passed away Sunday, October 6, 2024, at Northwestern Medicine McHenry Hospital.  He was born July 19, 1945, in Belgaum, Karnataka, India.

Dr. Pinto attended medical school at Bombay University, and immigrated to the United States for post-graduation studies.  With his best friend from medical school, Dr. Thomas Thandupurakal, they purchased the medical practice of Dr. Samuel Fried in Fox Lake, and practiced medicine for almost 50 years. He was a member of Our Lady of the Lakes-St. Bede Church, Ingleside.

Survivors include many cousins and extended family members; the Ed and Judy Fojtik family (who were instrumental in bringing Drs. Pinto and Thomas to Fox Lake and became family to them); Dr. Thomas (the late Susan); wonderful friends—many of whom called him uncle, and patients.

Dr. Pinto was preceded in death by his parents, Edward “Ned” and Dorothy “Dotty” (nee Aranha) Pinto from Mumbai; brother, Kevin Pinto; and good friend, Judy Fojtik.

Visitation Saturday, October 12, from 9 a.m. until the time of funeral service at 12 p.m., at Hamsher Lakeside Funerals & Cremations, 12 N. Pistakee Lake Rd., Fox Lake.  Burial will be in Grant Cemetery, Ingleside.  A luncheon will immediately follow the burial.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Dr. Pinto’s name to the American Cancer Society, appreciated.
