Judy had many passions in life, but her greatest passion was her family—most of all her grandchildren. A true family matriarch, she was a devoted wife, mom, grandma, and family caregiver. Judy was an exceptional cook and LOVED Christmas!!! She also shared her passion for cooking and baking with everyone she loved.
Judy and Ed founded Tanglewood Arabian’s and Tanglewood Giant Schnauzer’s. Judy became world-renowned in the Arabian Horse industry and received many accolades including winning- two National Championships. Later Judy began a career as an Arabian Judge and like anything she set her mind to, she succeeded and was in high demand. Judy quickly earned the respect of her peers, and developed life-long friendships including the likes of Patrick Swayze and Wayne Newton. She served many years as show chairman of The Arabian National Horse Show. She was also a Giant Schnauzer breeder and produced many Best in Show winning dogs including one Westminster Kennel Club winner. Judy, and her family, recently took up bee keeping and founded Tanglewood Honey, harvesting and jarring honey to sell and ship nationwide. Judy also enjoyed gardening—especially vegetables and herbs.
Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Edward “Ed”, whom she married April 4, 1964; children, Jacquie (Jack) Raslawski, Eddie (Dana Thennes) Fojtik II, and Betsy (Steve) Haas all of Ingleside; grandchildren, Kody and Fagan (fiancé Jake Lostroscio) Raslawski; siblings, Charles (Brenda) Fagan, JoDell (Dale) Meier, and JoAnn (the late Carl) Cepon; best friend, Shirley Burke; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, and friends.
