Kevin G. Foy, 34, of Lake Villa, unexpectedly passed away October 23, 2023. He was born June 17, 1989, in Evanston, to Gladys and Joseph Foy, Sr. Kevin was very artistic and creative and expressed himself through his woodwork and would give his belongings an artistic one of a kind look.
Kevin was honorably discharged from the Army as a Sergeant E5 and served in an infantry unit for five years. He was stationed in Vilseck, Germany and served two tours in Afghanistan (2010-2011 and 2013-2014). Kevin received numerous metals, ribbons, and awards during his time of service.
Kevin had many roles throughout his life: son, brother, uncle, father, and proudly an Army Combat Veteran. To know Kevin was to understand he made your day better just by being with him. He loved nothing more than hanging out with his brother, or a close friend or two. He was always working on projects and trying to learn how things worked. Kevin, Joe, and friends would whittle time away in deep conversation on topics of relevance.
Kevin lived in the moment. Everyone who knew Kevin agree their lives were somehow made better because they knew him. Where he could, he offered help and assistance—without a string attached. Kevin smiled and spread kindness everywhere he went. He will forever be missed by those who loved him, and those who knew him will always wish they had known him better. The world lost a good one. May his soul elevate and be blessed with love.
Survivors include his daughter, Chloe Taylor; mother of his child, Samantha Taylor; mother, Gladys Foy; siblings, Yvette Foy and Joe Foy; nephew and nieces, Jadon Foy and Marissa, Jessica, Alyssa, and Vanessa Lamphere; and his beloved cat, Kitty.
He was preceded in death by his dad, Joseph Sr., who was a Vietnam War Veteran; and sister, Tiffany.
Memorial visitation Saturday, November 18, from 11:30 a.m. until the time of Army funeral honors at 4:30 p.m., at Hamsher Lakeside Funerals & Cremations, 12 N. Pistakee Lake Rd., Fox Lake. The visitation will pause at 1:30 p.m. for a Catholic prayer service. Interment will be private.
