Lawrence T. Quirk, 81, a resident of the Ingleside area for 38 years, unexpectedly passed away Saturday, December 7, 2024, at Victory Lakes, Lindenhurst.  He was born September 12, 1943, in Chicago, to the late Frank and Sylvia (nee Larsen) Quirk.

Lawrence grew up in Chicago and was a graduate of Carl Schurz High School.  He went on to have a 49-year career as a machinist with International Harvester/Navistar International and was a proud 49-year member of UAW Local 6.  Lawrence was an avid hunter—especially, deer, pheasant and rabbit, and a lifelong White Sox fan.  Most of all, he loved his children and grandchildren, instilling in them a strong work ethic.

Survivors include his children, Frank (Amy) Quirk, Geri (Sean) Quirk-Blanken, Sean (Katie) Quirk, Vicki Graziano, Donna (John) O’Neil, and Thomas Graziano; grandchildren, Megan Quirk, Heather (Shawn) Wellenstein, Shane Quirk, Emma and Ethan Blanken, and Larry and Abby Quirk; great-grandchildren, Mason and Morgan Wellenstein; and a very-large extended family of grandchildren, step-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Lawrence was preceded in death by his wife, Roberta (nee Rassmussen); sons, Peter, Thomas, and Lawrence Jr.; and siblings, Janet Petrakis, James Quirk, and William Quirk.

A memorial visitation will be held Saturday, December 14, from 3-7 p.m., with a eulogy service and time to share memories of Lawrence at 5 p.m., at Hamsher Lakeside Funerals and Cremations, 12 N. Pistakee Lake Rd., Fox Lake.  Interment will be private.
