Leon E. Matuszewski, 77, of Fox Lake, formerly of Chicago, passed away Friday, August 20, 2021, at home. He was born July 1, 1944, in Chicago.
He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, during which he served as an Army Sergeant. He was a very patriotic, loved, and respectful man. Leon went on to work for the City of Chicago as a garbageman, retiring after 25 years of service.
Survivors include the love of his life, Chestine (nee Bentley); sons, David and Leon (Sherry); two grandchildren; stepsons, Mark Carbells and Leonard and Willie Bentley; four step-grandchildren; and two brothers.
The sweetest place in the world was wherever Leon was and Chestine knows he is saving a place for her.
Leon will be interred in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, Illinois. Services are private.
