Leroy “Lee” LeJeune Obituary

Leroy “Lee” LeJeune passed away peacefully in his home in Ingleside on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at the age of 81. He was surrounded by his loved ones.  He was born December 14, 1943, in Chicago, to the late Eugene and Marguerite (nee Leider) LeJeune.

Lee served in the US Army and Reserves and went on to own the True Value Hardware Store in Libertyville for over 40 years.  He was a ’57 Chevy car enthusiast, having restored several over the years.  Lee also enjoyed fishing—especially yearly trips to Canada, and spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Pam (nee Manke); his daughter Lisa and his grandchildren Justin, Brandon, and Bradley Cummings; his daughter Cheri (Kevin) Kabara and his grandchildren, Zach, Brian, and Allie Kabara; his daughter Kelly LeJeune; and his daughter Amy (Ruben) Morales and his grandchildren Ava, Eric, Emily, and Ben Morales; his siblings, Ray LeJeune, Tom LeJeune, Janet (Jim) Rodrian, and Ed (Sylvia) LeJeune; his sister-in-law, Sandy (Jim) Thompson; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Lee was preceded in death by brothers, Gene and John LeJeune.

The family would also like to thank the nurses and staff at Accord Hospice for their care and support.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.

A celebration of Lee's life will be held at a future date.  Please check back for an update.
