Louis David Olandese “Bud”, 76, a longtime resident of Fox Lake, passed away Tuesday, November 5, 2024, at JourneyCare Hospice, Barrington.  He was born April 13, 1948, in Chicago, to the late Louis Peter and Marilyn (nee Wager) Olandese.

Bud grew up in Fox Lake and was a 1966 graduate of Grant Community High School.  He went on to work for the Milwaukee Railroad and retired from the Lake County Forest Preserves where he had worked in maintenance.  Bud enjoyed golfing, bird hunting, going to casinos, and was a state champion trap shooter.  He was a past volunteer fireman with the Fox Lake Fire and Rescue Department.

Survivors include his siblings, Wayne, Bruce (the late Lynn), Tom (Toni), David, Frank, Marilyn (Greg) Burns, Darryl, and Louise (Gerard) Burns; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews; and many extended family members and friends.

In addition to his parents, Bud was preceded in death by his brother, James.

Visitation Friday, November 8, from 11 a.m. until the time of funeral service at 2 p.m., at Hamsher Lakeside Funerals & Cremations, 12 N. Pistakee Lake Rd., Fox Lake.  Burial will follow in Grant Cemetery, Ingleside.
