Mardi (Derer) Scheske

Mardi Scheske (nee Derer), 65, a longtime resident of Fox Lake, passed away Wednesday, March 21, 2018, at The Springs, Crystal Lake.  She was born January 5, 1953, in Chicago.  Mardi had a great love for, and was very active in, the Fox Lake community.

Survivors include her children, Billy (Jodi) Scheske of Milwaukee, WI and Kari (Stacey) Lorenz of Pardeeville, WI; grandchildren, William, Benjamin, and Nathan Scheske, and Kyla Lorenz; sister, Terri Eisele of Grayslake; niece and nephew, Tracey Lee and Joseph (Anna) Eisele; great niece and nephew, Kaylin and Jeffrey Lee; and many beloved extended family members and friends.

A celebration of Mardi’s life will be held Saturday, March 24, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m., at Hamsher Lakeside Funerals and Cremations, 12 N. Pistakee Lake Rd., Fox Lake.

Mardi was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Lorraine (nee Busch) Derer; and sister, Dr. Kristine R. Derer.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Mardi’s name may be made to the Dr. Kristine R. Derer Memorial Scholarship Fund at MNSU College of Education (memo line), payable to NMSU Foundation, Inc., Attn. Gift Planning Director, PO Box 3590, Las Cruces, NM  88003.
