Margaret Mary McMahon (nee Feeley), born October 17, 1928, passed away on May 30, 2024, in Port Royal, SC. She was born in Chicago, IL in Our Lady of Sorrows parish on the West Side and was the daughter of Francis P. Feeley and Margaret V. Feeley (nee Hanlon) She was the widow of Deacon John “Jack” W. McMahon, and they shared 67 years of marriage.

After graduating from Providence High School, she attended DePaul University for two years for secretarial studies. She retired from Rand McNally in 1988 after ten years in Accounts Payable. She was a devout Catholic and belonged to various parishes, most recently St. Bede’s in Ingleside, IL, until she moved to South Carolina in 2022. She was a willing volunteer for many church functions and groups. She will be remembered by anyone who made her acquaintance as kind, caring, and welcoming due to her lifelong cheerful outlook.

Margaret “Marge” McMahon is survived by eight of her nine children, Mary Kocourek (John), Rosemary Rosen (Jim), Meg Christenson (Lance), Eileen McMahon, Dan McMahon, Jacqueline Floan (David), John McMahon, and Paul McMahon (Ruth). She was preceded in death by her eldest daughter, Maureen Ann McMahon. She was the proud grandmother of 17 and great-grandmother of 12.

The wake will be held at Hamsher Lakeside Funerals & Cremations, 12 N. Pistakee Lake Rd., Fox Lake, IL on Friday, June 7, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. CST (with a 7 p.m. prayer service). Funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of the Lakes-St. Bede Church, 36455 N. Wilson Rd., Ingleside, IL on Saturday, June 8, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. CST.  All are invited to go directly to the church.  Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines, IL.
