Mark Degand, 56, of Fox Lake, unexpectedly passed away Thursday, January 27, 2022, at home.  He was born June 25, 1965, in Chicago, to the late Joseph and Elizabeth (nee Stemper) Degand.

 

Mark was a huge movie buff—and big fan of Jamie Lee Curtis.  He enjoyed 80’s music—especially electronica.

 

Mark worked for many years and loved his job at Blockbuster Video and managing movie theaters.  Most recently, he worked in telephone customer service.  Above all, Mark will be remembered for being a loving son, brother, uncle, and a wonderful, generous friend to many.

 

Survivors include his siblings, Joseph (Susan) Degand, Elizabeth (the late Dennis) Johnson, Sophie (the late James) Blackley, Michael (Annie) Degand, and Michelle (Carter) Graumann; sister-in-law, Judy Degand; many beloved nieces and nephews; and many, many dear friends.

 

In addition to his parents, Mark was preceded in death by his brother, Rick Degand.
