Mark Charles Schmitz, 71, passed away on June 7th, 2022, at home after battling years of medical issues. He faced them head-on like the bull-headed man we knew to love. 

Mark is known for his love of the water and boating. He loved to hang out in the yard with friends and family and cook on the grill. He also loved to tinker around in the garage and work on projects that were just random ideas that would come to him. 

He is survived by his sister Patty, and his wife Colleen. He was a father to 4 children: Mark (Judy), Laurie, Tracy, and Luke (Clarissa). A stepfather to Robert, Tara, and Paula. He was a papa to 14 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. 

He is proceeded in death by his parents Marvin and Lucille “Lou “Schmitz, and sister Marvetta “Punky” Hayes. 

A celebration of his life will be held at his home 4807 Jeffrey St. Johnsburg IL 60051 on Sunday, June 12th, 2022.
