Marlene Gast (nee Mihalik), 78, a resident of Ingleside since 1968, died Sunday, November 28, 2021, at The Springs, Crystal Lake.
Born March 1, 1943, in Chicago, to the late Casimer and Delia (nee Nowicki) Mihalik, she married the late Charles “Chuck” M. Gast May 16, 1964.
Marlene worked as an Administrative Assistant for the Village of Fox Lake for 22 years. Very active in the community, she was involved with Little League and the Grant Township Adopt-A-Family program. Above all, she enjoyed her annual trips with her girlfriends and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her children, Jeffrey (Rene) of Lake Villa, Christopher (Sandy) of Woodstock, Michelle (Charlie) Willkomm of Salem, WI, and Kimberly (Larry) Williams of McHenry; grandchildren, Mackenzie, Jared, Curtis, Zach (Heather), Brennan, Micaela, Leah, Brooke, Matthew, and Caitlyn; great-grandchildren, Mackenzie and Morgan; sister, Diane (the late Daniel) Sheber; sister-in-law, Beverly Norris; and many nieces, nephews, and good friends.
Marlene was preceded in death by her husband, Chuck, on February 2, 2019; her parents; grandson, Riley Gast; and son-in-law, Robert Stillwell.
Visitation Thursday, December 2, from 3-8 p.m., at Hamsher Lakeside Funerals & Cremations, 12 N. Pistakee Lake Rd., Fox Lake. Visitation will resume Friday, December 3, from 9 a.m. until the time of funeral at 10 a.m., at the funeral home. Please click here to view the livestream.
