Mary Moats Obituary

Mary Moats (nee Wolf), 83, of Johnsburg, passed away May 1, 2024, at home surrounded by family.  She was born February 4, 1941, to the late Raleigh and Pearl (nee Voy) Wolf.

Survivors include her children, Cyndi (Ron) Prosser, Stacey (Brad Meyer) Gilbertson, and Mark (Tracey) Moats; grandchildren, Lindsay, Amanda, Nate, Max, Taylor, and Grant; great-grandchildren, Ava, John Paul, Carson, Lucas, and Liam; and siblings, Donna DeBerg, Carol McGowan, Dean Wolf, and Jim Wolf.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, John Moats.

Family was a priority for Mary. She spent the early years of her marriage focusing on developing a close-knit family, nurturing her three children into young adulthood. Once her children were raised, Mary returned to school to obtain her Associate of Science degree, and eventually became a licensed Realtor.

Mary loved to cook, garden, and play golf. She was a sports enthusiast, and religiously attended her children's sporting events from Little League baseball/softball through college basketball. Mary was an avid Cubs fan, cheering on the Cubbies through the end of April this year. Go Cubs Go!
