Maureen Fisher (nee Groth) passed away Friday, March 3rd just shy of her 83rd birthday. With her beloved husband Dick (deceased), she built a fulfilled life in Fox Lake and Franklin Park. Her family meant everything to her. Loving mother to her three children and their spouses that she loved like her children- Laura and partner Donna Karpavicius, Tim and wife Jane, Greg and wife Terri. Proud grandmother of Gregory Jr and wife Stephanie, Katie, Matthew and wife Rachel, and Lauren. Beloved great-grandmother of Grant, Brooke, and Whitney. Sister of Brian Groth and the late Dan Groth. She leaves behind her wonderful sister-in-laws and dear friends Darlene Groth and Kathy Groth. Much loved Auntie Moe to multi-generations of nieces and nephews. Pre-deceased by her parents Margaret (O’Malley) and Henry Groth. Maureen loved being an active part of her family’s lives and activities. Her years working at West Leyden H.S. brought her much joy. Her friends were an important part of her life and so much fun! Her bye-bye bags and love of Christmas leave many cherished memories. Maureen was greatly loved and will be missed immensely by many. Visitation Monday, March 6, from 3 p.m. until a prayer service at 8 p.m., at Hamsher Lakeside Funerals and Cremations, 12 N. Pistakee Lake Rd, Fox Lake. Visitation will continue Tuesday, March 7, from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass at 11 a.m. at St. Emily Catholic Church, 1400 E. Central Rd., Mount Prospect. Burial will follow at All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines.
